Privacy Policy
Effective May 12, 2026
seenit is designed as a local-first movie journal. This policy explains what stays on your device, what is sent to third-party services when you use online movie lookup features, how exports and imports work, and how to contact Aurum Labs.
Developer and privacy contact
seenit is provided by Aurum Labs. For privacy questions or data requests, contact privacy@seenit.app. For general product support, contact support@seenit.app.
Information stored on your device
seenit stores your movie journal in a local SQLite database on your device. This can include movie titles and metadata, poster URLs, watched dates, ratings, reviews, rewatch flags, tags, and localized movie metadata.
seenit stores app preferences on your device, including onboarding state, backup notice state, language choice, haptic feedback, toast confirmations, app-lock state, and biometric unlock settings.
If you enable an app-lock PIN, the PIN is stored with the secure storage provided by your operating system. If you enable biometric unlock, biometric matching is handled by the operating system; seenit does not receive or store your fingerprint, face, or other biometric template.
Information sent off your device
seenit uses TMDB to search for movie metadata, details, posters, genres, recommendations, and trending movies. When you use those online lookup features, the app can send your search terms, selected TMDB movie IDs, requested language, requested region, and ordinary request information such as IP address and device/network metadata to TMDB over HTTPS.
seenit does not send your personal ratings, reviews, tags, watched dates, app-lock PIN, or local backup files to TMDB.
This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
User-controlled exports and imports
seenit includes export and import tools so you can back up or move your local movie journal. Exports are created only when you choose to export, and the exported SQLite file can include your movie log, reviews, ratings, watched dates, rewatch flags, tags, and movie metadata.
When you share an export, the destination app or service you choose may receive and handle that file under its own privacy practices. When you import a file, seenit accesses the file you select through the system document picker and uses it to update your local database.
Accounts, analytics, advertising, and tracking
- seenit does not currently require an account.
- seenit does not operate a developer server for your personal movie log.
- seenit does not currently include in-app advertising.
- seenit does not currently include third-party analytics SDKs.
- seenit does not sell personal or sensitive user data.
- seenit does not use your data for cross-app or cross-site tracking.
Device permissions and sensitive data
seenit does not request access to your location, contacts, camera, microphone, or photo library for its core movie logging features. Import uses the system document picker only after you choose a file. Export uses the system sharing interface only after you choose to share a backup.
Security
seenit keeps your movie log on your device by default. App-lock PIN storage uses the operating system secure storage APIs, and online movie metadata requests are transmitted over HTTPS.
No method of storage or transmission is perfect, so you should protect exported backup files and avoid sharing them with services or people you do not trust.
Retention and deletion
Your movie journal remains on your device until you delete entries in the app, import data that changes it, clear the database where the app offers that option, uninstall the app, or clear app data through your operating system.
Temporary export and import working files are used only to complete the selected backup or restore action. Exported files that you save or share outside seenit must be deleted from the destination location if you no longer want them there.
Because seenit currently has no account system, there is no account deletion process. Deleting local app data from your device is the primary way to delete your seenit data.
Children
seenit is not directed to children, and it does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If seenit's data practices change, this policy will be updated and the effective date will be changed.
